Before Kathy Bates won an Emmy, not for "Harry's Law," but for a guest spot on "Two and a Half Men," she had a much more important appointment to attend.
She underwent a double mastectomy, much to the surprise of many. It is hard to keep thing under wraps these days, but kudos for her and the courage during troubled times. Now, one would understand if she opted out of the festivities as the Emmys unfold. But no, she accepted her guest actress in a comedy award on Sept. 15. For the list of winners already announced, head here.
And she will be on hand to present at this year's show as well. Award shows always take time out to honor those who have passed away in the past year, and that will happen again, but, when Bates appears, it could just well be the moment of the night. Stay tuned.
As award shows seek publicity, they filter out the list of presenters in hopes of building hype and stories. Well, no biting here, but now, here is the complete list of those who will present at the 2012 Emmy Awards, presented live in all time zones, on ABC.
Besides Bates, Jimmy Fallon has hopped on board and he, too, won an early award. The rest are Steve Buscemi, Stephen Colbert, Seth MacFarlane, Aziz Ansari, Kat Dennings, Jane Levy, Hayden Panettiere, Matthew Perry, James Van Der Beek and Damon Wayans, Jr. That list came later as the following were announced earlier.
Those previously announced presenters are Andre Braugher, Connie Britton, Louis C.K., Jon Cryer, Claire Danes, Jeremy Davies, Zooey Deschanel, Giancarlo Esposito, Tina Fey, Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jon Hamm, Ron Howard, Mindy Kaling, Lucy Liu, Julianna Margulies, Melissa McCarthy, Julianne Moore, Jim Parsons Martha Plimpton, Amy Poehler, Kiefer Sutherland, Emily Van Camp and Kerry Washington.
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast will air live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, September, (8 p.m. EDT live / 5 p.m. PDT live) on ABC.
Now, let's have a little fun. More Emmy facts to munch on before the show.
