Some help for us addicts

Today I went and had my eyes examined which I was long overdue for a check-up. It has been three years.

I have noticed for some time now that I see better if I do not have my glasses on when watching TV or for distance.

I did mention during the exam that I am on the computer a lot, which is an understatement possibly bordering on a lie, and I sometimes find it hard seeing at the right spot through my glasses as they are tri-focals.

After she asked me how many days a week I am on and I had to admit seven. She then suggested that I get "computer" glasses that are specially made for those who are on the computers a lot.

They are graduated from the bi-focal to the tri-focal and can have a special coating that cuts down on the glare and causes less eye strain.

So next week I should have those new glasses and I will be able to see the computer better and have less eye strain. Whoopee!!

    You're so bad Chris!

And Cynthia have you noticed that your eye sight has improved with age? I know I can't use my glasses when I am using the computer! Bonus!

So is your next up-date for digitaljournal an eight day week? LOL

I will suggest though Chris, that the next thing is some kind of timer that we can click onto that will lock us out of DJ for a certain amount of time. I find myself barely getting to appointments on time because I have to have just "one" more look at DJ before I leave. :-)

They said that my eyes have stayed almost the same since my last check-up three years ago. A little difference in the left eye was all.

I do need glasses for reading and the computer though. I hope with getting "computer" glasses that it will be easier as I won't have to keep moving my head up and down as much.

Tri-focals can be a real pain but I do need them.

ummm, Picasso, lets not do the changing hours in a day or days in a week thing anymore...last time it resulted in Mike wanting to dominate the whole world. (heh)

Good on the glasses though for you, I never needed help reading , close or for the computer, BUT, if I wear my contacts to see far, then I need glasses to see up close.

Anyone see anything wrong with that picture?

Well I will still be on the watch tomorrow to see what happens. LOL

Almost everyone as they get older will reach a stage where they will need glasses to at least read with.

I laugh at Jaguar/Laura at how far she has to hold a page away from her to read. I tell her "come on Laura, admit it you need glasses at least to read."

I am the exact opposite. I have perfect up close vision and yet cannot see beyond the tips of my outstretched arm, hence the contacts that if I wear them, destroys my ability to read up close.

Tomorrow? I thought he was taking over the world on Sunday!! I have go reread that sucker.

Well I will petition him and see if he won't allow me to be the mother figure after he takes over the world. The mother does not need to wear that kind of thing nor would he want me to. ROFL

Hysterical. Since everyone calls you Mom he sorta has to grant you anything you want.

OH, I looked, you are right, it is Saturday.

I wear bifocals but for looking at my monitor, I have to look over the top of them!!! For everything else...gotta have my glasses for the clarity! Gosh...this is one of the things I dislike about getting more "mature"! LOL!

Without a doubt, I'm probably heading there. Some days are better than others...and I think that has to do w/my diabetes. When I went to my checkup last Fall, my eyes hadn't changed in 2 years! That I'm thankful for!!!

    An up-date.
I just got my "computer" glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!
What a difference, they are great.

Can't wait until I can get back to DJ and spend more time instead of just popping in and out as I have the last two days.

I really cannot believe the difference.
