I could pay all my debts, get a sponsor, go to Africa or south America and do humanitarian work in some kind of dilapidated orphanage, shelter or hospital.
I could pay my tithes and offerings and support the Church in its plight to assist the less fortunate in third world countries or those who have suffered the aftermath of events such as Hurricane Katrina, or the Christmas day Tsunami's in Bali. Seems viable. They also teach those who come unto the fold, how to be charitable, faithful followers of the Savior.
I could support a soldier fighting a war in Afghanistan, knowing that he is risking his life to protect the rights and freedom of the oppressed, I could send him encouraging emails, tell him that he is loved and that he is in my prayers, and that I have faith in him.
Then again, I could teach the children that I might have some day, to "Love their neighbor", and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
I could be the best person that I can be, in being an example to others, being of service to my fellow men and women, lifting another when they are in need. Who knows what the ripple effect of my actions could have. I could set a good, Christian example. We could strengthen one another.
The war which we wage is not only a physical war, it is also a spiritual war. While our brothers, fathers, husbands, sons, fiancé's, sisters, daughters, mothers, while these our people fight on the front line, let us not forget that we in our homes fight a spiritual war with Satan, every single day. He tells us that 'once wont matter', yet it does, that 'nobody will know', yet we know, and God knows. The Adversary creeps in to the hearts of our people and changes them from the inside out without them even realizing until it is too late.
Yes, this is how I can save the world. Maybe not the world that is current and historical, but the world that is to come. I can be the best Christian that I can be, I can put the Lord first, I can be an example of His teachings in all that I do, I can teach the children that I might have some day.
Yes, this is how I can change the world.
I do plan on a future involving humanitarian work in a third world country, but first, I start with myself.
