Multi-talented and multi-faceted performer Nicole Oliver is proof positive that a balance can be had in a career in the entertainment industry. The established talent is in-demand more than ever as an actor, director, and in the competitive voice-over market. Not prepared to slow down anytime soon, Nicole has had multiple roles in Movies of the Week, television series’ and animated cartoons; not to mention recently completed her MA and was a contributing blogger training for this year's Vancouver Sun Run, all while balancing the responsibilities of running her own household and family.
Her acting career is busier than ever, with a number of notable projects on the horizon. Nicole is currently co-starring in the thriller ‘Taken Back--Finding Haley’ with Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary), Kacey Rohl (The Killing, Red Riding Hood), Moira Kelly (One Tree Hill) and David Cubitt (Medium). ‘Taken Back’ is the story of a mother, unable to get over the abduction of her daughter. She is eventually convinced she has finally found her, but is she simply a mother obsessed? ‘Taken Back’ will premiere in the US on August 11th on the Lifetime Network and in Canada on Movie Central on September 19th, 2012.
Also on television, this past season, Nicole guest starred in the popular television series ‘Supernatural’ in an episode entitled ‘Repo Man’. Nicole could last be seen in an MOW playing a pivotal role in ‘The Woodcarver’, with Woody Jeffreys (Eureka, Smallville) and John Ratzenberger (Cheers, Toy Story). Another recent role for Nicole on the small screen is in the television movie ‘Innocent’, also starring Bill Pullman and Marcia Gay Harden. She has a vast list of television and film credits and is continuously recognized for her 4 seasons as host on the hit Slice Network series ‘Crash Test Mommy’.
Her current projects include the film ‘Leap 4 Your Life’, which features Nicole as a stage mother to ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ alum Allie Bertram. The film also stars April Telek (Amazon Falls, Hell on Wheels). At the 10th Annual Leap 4 Your Life Competition, the drama doesn't just unfold on the stage, but it appears the competition is just as fierce between both the stage moms and the dancers themselves. This isn't your average dance competition. Don't let the sequins fool you, the studio owner Maureen (Telek) is hungry for the Ultimate Grand Prize Trophy and will do whatever it takes to get it.
This incredibly busy mom and professional has mastered the balance between family and work, and has furthered her education with a Masters of Arts in Communication from Royal Roads University. She recently achieved another professional milestone, with the launch of Predator Communications with her husband (and award-winning film and television composer) Chris Ainscough. Predator Communication creates, executes, and delivers specialized production for multi-media platforms.
Not only is Nicole a successful actor, producer, and director, she is also a mother, a wife, and role model of our time who believes that diversification is the key to success. Nicole is proof that with success in life there can be balance.
