Can this even come close to being 'Great and Powerful'?

Now, will Hollywood screw this up?
The latest from "Oz the Great and Powerful" was at Comic-Con. Note, like the "Wizard of Oz," it starts in black and white and then color (actually the black and white was sepia tone). The attempt at either remaking and/or re-inventing those treasures from the past, often backfire. Let's see if a prequel, if you will, can ignite the passion here.
From the early look at this, perhaps too much modern day "Alice in Wonderland" is added here. Of course, that is to be expected since that team and the Spider-Man trilogy folk are hooked up here.
Before heading to see this one with kids or those old enough to remember "The Wizard of Oz" before it was on all the time and overplayed, this is NOT that film. It is how the "Wizard for to Oz" and became the person Dorothy and the gang went to see.
It is slated for a March 8, 2013 release date. It stars Mila Kunis as Theodora; James Franco as Oz; Rachel Weisz as Evanora and Michelle Williams as Glinda. For complete cast list, head here.
