Wild flowers and butterflies

This week I was delighted to see some wildlife that I ordinarily would not see in the Washington D.C. suburbs, an owl and a very young deer (think Bambi!).
Unfortunately, I did not manage to capture either. If I had my camera with me, the owl would have been a beautiful shot.
Although, I did manage to snap a few pics of a butterfly right in my yard, before it flew away, which is usually my luck. Not this time though!

I planted what I d hoped to be at least a small garden in the corner of my yard (I have a hard time ...
I planted what I'd hoped to be at least a small garden in the corner of my yard (I have a hard time growing things!), not much initially. Now I think its two years later, the flowers bloomed all over the place. Seeing many butterflies, bees and rabbits in here.
