Six days of war, 40 years of secrecy John McCain defends father

In 2008 according to Ralph Nader, John McCain and his admiral father covered up the USS Liberty attack on orders that came down from the highest corridors of the U.S. government,” Nader called on McCain to answer to the deaths of servicemen who died from the attack by Israel. Why is this important 40 years on? Because Israel needs to know that it will be exposed and held accountable for its actions and incidents, likewise Syria and the Palestinians, the latter of whom might contend the Liberty saga was one factor in delaying the creation of the nation state of Palestine. The two key issues arising from this are still relevant today. If Israel did deliberately attack the most powerful nation on Earth, it knows it can do so and get away with murder. Worse still, US military personnel now know that if the truth is politically inconvenient, they and their legacy are expendable. The attack of the USS Liberty that many claim was deliberate exposing how the U.S. looked the other way. Was this Israel's way of showing the U.S. who has the power, and who doesn't? Is Israel making decisions for the American people? Did Israel make the decisions for the U.S. to invade Iraq?
