The Centre for Workforce Intelligence (CfWI) has published the report 'Shape of the medical workforce: Starting the debate on the future consultant workforce'. This is UK related.
CfWI is urging employers, the medical profession and policymakers in the healthcare system to start an urgent debate on the future shape of the medical workforce.
Its projections show that if the system continues to train and recruit doctors at current rates, there could be a significant increase in the number of consultants by 2020 – an increase of 60 per cent compared to 2010.
Supporting documents include a document with employer views, and a summary document.
For more information and to download the report see the CfWIwebsite.
