Jenson Button was victories in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix held in Melbourne
Jenson who was placed second on the grid behind his team mate Louis Hamilton, beat him to the first corner and never looked back.
Hamilton continued to lose the pace when he was overtaken by Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel after a unlucky encounter with a safety car.
Red Bull's Mark Webber was fourth just in front of the chasing Ferrari of Fernando Alonso.
Going into the final lap Williams driver Pastor Maldonado was sitting in sixth position, but a untimely error caused him to crash at turn seven, and hand the sixth place to the Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi.
Button was completely oblivious to the drama taking place behind him. And after passing Hamilton at turn one the Englishman cruised to victory.
It was definitely a good day at the office for team Maclaren. But also the display's of team Red Bull and Ferrari will give them tremendous confidence going into a long F1 season.
