Coeur Libre: An art exhibition by Laurel Holloman

Many fans remember her as Randy Dean, the baby butch from The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love, or, more recently, the cheated-on-housewife-turned-Hollywood-hot-shot-producer and a woman of her own, Tina Kennard, in Showtime’s critically-praised lesbian drama The L Word. These two emblematic roles turned Laurel Holloman into a gay icon the lesbian community devotedly keeps looking up to.
But even more people should become familiar with Holloman’s artistic endeavours she embarked on since December 2009, when, along with her dear friend, photojournalist Miki Turner, she initiated an online art/photo charity auction to the benefit of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.
A free spirit that followed her heart, Holloman has established herself as an abstract painter, living and breathing art for the past few years. In 2010, while spending the summer in NYC, she painted the "Tribeca Series", a collection which sold out in less than two months. Last spring, at the eighth L Word convention in Brighton, UK, she announced that she would take a one year hiatus from acting to focus on painting full time. She worked hard and her efforts paid off.
And there it is. Her first solo show in Paris! There couldn’t have been a better place to showcase her paintings to the world of art aficionados or simply to those who’d like to forget for a while about mortgages, unpaid bills or egomaniac bosses, and take in the beauty of Holloman’s blended colors. Paris has the honor to host her collection called "Coeur Libre" (Free Heart) at the Mairie du 5e, 21 place du Panthéon, 75005, Paris.
The free entrance show opens to the public from April 4 through April 21, 2012. If you’d like to quench your thirst for art and beauty, do something good for your soul and drop by. If not, this is what you’ll be missing:
