After a flourishing career in the voice-over industry spanning over 12 years, Trevor Devall has returned to the on-camera world with the lead villain role in “Big Time Movie”. The film, an anticipated spin-off from Nickelodeon’s hit series, “Big Time Rush”, will air on March 10th at 8/7c. The award-winning Canadian actor plays Sir Atticus Moon, a multi-billionaire James-Bond-style villain (right down to the white suit and lap-cat) with an evil plan to rule the world. The film was shot in Vancouver and executive produced by BTR’s show creator Scott Fellows.
“Big Time Movie” was inspired by the Fab Four and will feature covers of Beatles songs, including “Help!”, “A Hard Day’s Night”, “We Can Work It Out” and “Revolution”. In the film, the Big Time Rush boys (Kendall, James, Carlos, and Logan—four hockey players from Minnesota selected to form a boy band) depart for London for a concert but end up having to team up with spies to save the world. When their bags get switched at the airport, hilarity ensues. “It’s a Nickelodeon take on James Bond meets Austin Powers, featuring covers of classic Beatles songs that both kids and their parents can enjoy,” says Nickelodeon’s President of Original Programming and Development, Marjorie Cohn.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Trevor Devall is a prolific voice artist, having performed in hundreds of animated productions including television movies, series, feature films and video games. Trevor's extensive and ongoing list of animated series work includes the roles of: Dukey on “Johnny Test”, Dad in “Kid vs. Kat”, Mu Laflaga and Neo in “Gundam Seed”, Mr. Palmer, Ike and a variety of other characters in “Zeke’s Pad”, Pyro in “X-Men: Evolution”, Alpha Q in “Transformers: Energon” and Scourge in “Transformers: Cybertron”, to just name a few.
You may not only have heard Trevor, but seen him on the big screen as well, in one of the many feature films he has appeared in. He has performed roles including Baramanda in the CG feature “A.R.K.”(with James Woods), Toa Pohatu in “Bionicle: Mask of Light”, Toa Nuju in “Bionicle: Legends of Metru Nui”, and Shesta in “Escaflowne”.
When he isn’t on set or in the studio, Trevor hosts the popular podcast “Voiceprint with Trevor Devall and Guests”, which features some of animation’s biggest voice performers. This engaging internet talk show can be heard on Trevor’s website or downloaded for free on iTunes. He stays active elsewhere in the voiceover community as well, working as a voice acting coach at some of the finest institutions in Vancouver.
Although the voiceover scene has been very good to him, Trevor is thrilled at the opportunity to now tackle the exciting world of on-screen acting again in “Big Time Movie”.
