Vancouver-based business woman Charie Van Dyke, president of New Image College of Fine Arts, recently showed off her "party" attitude on the popular television series “Party Mamas” on SLICE TV. "Party Mamas" follows outgoing mothers as they plan over-the-top extravaganza parties for their children hoping to throw "the best party ever". Charie’s episode marked one of the first episodes of “Party Mamas” to ever be filmed in British Columbia.
Charie's episode gave us a glimpse into the "play" side of her successful work life. No stranger to the limelight, Charie began modeling in her teens and has appeared on hundreds of ads, magazine covers and billboards all over the world. One of her most exciting times as an actor was when she had a call back to play Krystle Carrington’s (Linda Evans) daughter on the extremely popular television show “Dynasty”. Today, Charie has turned her talents to behind the scenes and counts over sixty film producer credits to her name.
Not just another pretty face in the world of entertainment, Charie is a savvy businesswoman, who, along with her husband John Craig, operates New Image College of Fine Arts. Founded in 1980 by her parents, Charie took over the operation in 1988. New Image is an accredited Private College offering five core courses, including Fashion and Film Design Make-Up, Film Acting and Spa Technician Diplomas. New Image Entertainment Corp. also produces movies, shorts and feature films.
Charie's success philosophies also include contributing to the community. The College of Fine Arts finds many ways to get involved in community events and charity auctions. They have given away spa treatments, spa days and scholarships to a wide variety charity events. They also often supply make-up artists for charity fashions shows and send spa girls to retirement homes for manicures, to brighten up the day of area residents.
Whether it be planning a spectacular party, running a high-profile business, or investing in philanthropic projects, Charie is a stand-out in everything she tackles.
