Here are a few tips off the top of my head for sudden stress relief during the winter holidays or whenever:
Flexing expectations is a mental exercise than gets funner with practice. One way to do it: Pick an expectation, symbolize it and imagine stretching the symbol until it shape-shifts into something even better.
Looking for new treasures can be practiced while gift shopping, but I usually do it on neighborhood strolls. Some treasures revealed outdoors are better left for others to enjoy, but some are keepers, as fleeting memories or tangible collectibles.
Letting nature entertain for a change is another favorite stress relief activity. It helps that I haven't owned a television in years.
Decorating an outdoor evergreen tree can be exciting on a windy day!
