Last week in Toronto, the
Canadian Festival of Spoken Word played host to a poetry competition known as a slam, featuring 20
teams from across the country. I helped run the fest and I'll admit it was a whirlwind of intense talent and beautiful wordsmithing. Undoubtedly, a week to remember.
Finals Night on Saturday determined the winner, and Edmonton's Breath in Poetry crew took home the crown, triumphing over Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston.
