Sri Lankan Monks Arrested On Child Sex Crimes

Colombo - Sri Lanka Police captured a famous Buddhist monk in the country. The 60-year-old man accused of having sex with a girl aged 12 years. Worse yet, it's immoral acts going on for about a year at the temple monks in Anuradhapura district. This was conveyed by Sri Lankan police as reported by AFP news agency on Saturday (20/08/2011). No mention is the identity of the elderly monk. Sri Lanka Police also declined to provide further details about the arrests. Some time ago, several monks have been convicted of child abuse. But today's arrest is the most sensational cases in Sri Lanka. According to the rule of law in Sri Lanka, sex offenders can be jailed a maximum of 15 years.
