The Internet has changed the way we see ourselves and the world.
We no longer can make excuses for our excesses that harm our environment.
No longer can we moan about our cancers and our children's asthma when we climb into our gas guzzling cars and buy our pre-packaged food. We can now see very clearly a polar bear stranded on an ice flow with no hope of swimming to safety. Thanks to the Internet for that glimpse of reality. Somehow we will figure out how to forget about it, leave it up to someone else. After all we are finite, and we do love our things. I would prefer this;
www.voteelectric.ca.
When I heard about Elizabeth May, The Leader of The Green Party of Canada making some waves, trying to want us to care about our planet and ultimately ourselves I thought I'd search her out. I went to the Yahoo search engine, although I prefer Google, and typed in her name. There she was on the very top! But, hey wait a minute, under her name;
www.liberal.ca. Yes, a sponsored ad taking you to the Federal Liberal Party's website. Well, I didn't stay there long. I will tell you that I made some calls and wrote some emails. Guess what, no one wants to take ownership of that ad. The Liberal office of Bob Rae didn't know anything about it. Or, at least the person who answers the phone didn't know anything about it. The Green Party doesn't either. I've asked the Globe and Mail, MacLeans and CBC. Now I am asking all of you citizens.
So whats the deal? Who paid to put that ad up there to bring traffic to the Liberal site?
Would any Liberal like to find out and tell us all the truth.
In the meantime, I went further down the search and met Elizabeth May.
Good thing she is going to be in the debate or everyone will be watching the Biden/Palin faceoff.
