Just a note on op-eds. I don't write many, but having lived and worked many years in Hawaii, it is difficult not to be offended with the media reports everywhere on this birth certificate issue, Donald Trump and all that. I went to the hospital in Hawaii and spoke to one of the clerks, whom I know but did not want to talk about this. She says the entire hospital staff is appalled at mainland people's antics. Furthermore the Hawaiian people are insulted that their laws and officials are not trusted. I worry greatly Trump may secure an American Idol upset, that would spell disaster for lots of reasons.
Anyway, I noticed an increase in op-eds, and this recent article I posted is likely to be less a habit than exception.
