If you thought Metallica went on a permanent vacation, think again. According to
Rolling Stone, the metal legends are excited about their ninth studio album,
Death Magnetic. It is their first album with bassist Robert Trujillo, the most recent member of the band. The album will also see the return of renowned producer Rick Rubin, who hasn't worked on a Metallica record for 17 years.
Surprise surprise, Rolling Stone
gave Death Magnetic four stars in its recent issue...the issue that had Metallica as the cover stars. According to the review,
Death Magnetic is "Metallica becoming Metallica again — specifically, the epic, speed-obsessed version from the band's template-setting trilogy of mid-Eighties albums."
Are you going to give Metallica another chance after their terrible albums a la
St. Anger? Do you think Hetfield and Ulrich can still hold the band together?
