In a study released by DNN and Leadtail, the retweets of mid-size marketers were analyzed to determine the Twitter handles of greatest influence to them.
Who are considered the top thought leaders among mid-market advertisers?
The answer was uncovered in questions posed in collaboration between DNN Software and social marketing services concern, Leadtail in a report entitled, How Top Marketers at Mid-Sized Companies Engage on Twitter, as Adweek reported.
The study defined the mid-market as companies employing 50 to 5,000 employees and identified the most influential Twitter handles through the retweet behaviors of the mid-market staffers employed in a marketing function.
Some curiosities in the top 50 mix include: President Obama, ranked 18th; George Takei, of Star Trek fame, ranked 19th; and comedian Jim Gaffigan, ranked 39th.
The report utilized 900,000 tweets from a universe of 500 marketers.
