What if you had a way to display your Digital Journal user stats on your own website, blog, or favorite forum? Would you use it? What would you like it to show and do?
An inspiration from Facebook, DJ badges would allow you to display your user stats to the world while attracting potential new users curious about what your stats mean, if you really have made that large amount of money, and if they could do the same.
Static vs Java Script Images
Choose between a static image or one that is generated through java script. The static image would be a normal jpg/png image containing user stats that would be automatically generated with current stats every 1-2 hours. Clicking the linked image takes you to your profile or if implemented a sign up page with your personal referral code. Static Images are good for sites that do not allow java script to be added to the page. ie Myspace or forums. Java script generated images have the advantage of being updated on the fly and the possibility of interactive features. Examples of java script generated image features include but are not limited to:
DJ logo: Clicking would take you to the main page.
Avatar: Clicking would take you to user profile.
User Name: Same as Avatar.
Active Blogs: Clicking would take you to list of users articles.
Commented: Clicking would take you to articles commented on by user.
Rank: Clicking would take you to the top 20 list.
Customization: Change the type or color of your badge. Don't like the size? Add or remove user stats to your liking.
