Pastor inspires `audacity to hope'

Obama says that Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. helps keep his priorities straight and his moral compass calibrated.
Over the last few days there was a great deal of discussion in one of ziad's posts about Barack Obabma's religious affiliations and the church that he is currently a member of and their somewhat different Black Values System. Today, I found this special report in the Chicago Tribune about the Reveran Jeremiah Wright Jr. who is the Pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Mr. Obama is a member of his congregation.
When Pastor Wright took over the church in 1972 the congregation number 87. Today it's congregation has grown to 8,500 and not only boasts Mr. Obama as a member and so is Oprah Winfrey and the hip-hop artist Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., known "Common".
This article is a fascinating look at the Pastor's life and how he has molded and shaped his church's spiritual and physical growth. I'm sure it will be interesting for all to get a glimpse at one of the democratic party's potential president candidate's spiritual mentor and role model. Enjoy.
