With Mayor's order, Officers destroy tents of homeless in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The city of St. Petersburg's battle against its homeless residents escalated today when police slashed their tents to the ground and threw them away.
Homeless bystanders stood by and watched in shock, many with tears streaming down their faces.
The Plan was put together by the Mayor, the Police and the Fire department, they went ahead and cut down Tents with box cutters, and then threw them away into Trash dumpsters. There were lot of people affected by it, not many were warned before, so this was a big shock to most of them there. You can see in the video there. Ministries have set up some Fire resistant tents for these displaced Homeless people. It seems the Mayor has rushed his decision, he could have given enough warnings and also find some suitable homes for these people. Just by removing tents with box cutters is not going to solve the homeless problems.
