article imageSisters back from China with hope

By Brandigal (Donna)     Jan 18, 2007 in Health
The two Ontario sisters who left for China for Stem Cell treatment are back with hope of improvement.
Shannon,21, and Erica,18, Deering were both paralyzed in a car crash several years ago. They both went to China to get a series of experimental stem cell transfusions that is not available here in North America.
The treatment costs about $20,000 per patient.
They both were were injected with millions of umbilical cord stem cells in hopes of it would simply give them some small relief.
After the month of injections and intense acupuncture and herbal intravenous sessions, Shannon found small changes, including in her posture and the warmth of her legs but Erica hasn't noticed any substantial difference yet. Both girls believe time back home with their intense workouts will only help the controversial process.
Erica said "I would recommend it to anyone who asks. Just go there with an open mind. It has brought miracles to people. I've seen that."
I wish both girls the miracles they both want. I do hope it works for them.
