Digital Journal — You’re staying at a hotel and feel like watching a movie using on-demand video. But you’re feeling a tad randy so you decide to check out a skin flick. Little do you know this hotel offers video of live sex through its pay-per-view service.

If an adult entertainment industry insider predicts correctly, this scenario will be reality in the near future. According to the New York Times, Gregory Clayman, the owner of the live-action company Video Secrets, anticipated selling not just videos in major hotels, but also images of porn stars having sex live over the hotels’ entertainment systems.

“We feel that live, right now, is coming of age,” Clayman said during a panel discussion at Internext, an annual trade show for sex entertainment industry producers. “We are planning to make the jump to hotel rooms.”

In light of computers and TV sets continuing to marry their services together, Clayman believed live-action sex would find a home in on-demand services in hotels. Sex is just sex, perhaps, but real-time sex would allow customers to text-message performers to engage in certain acts, as some websites already allow.

Clayman’s company and its competitors are eyeing a lucrative market. Americans spent $1.6 billion US last year for on-demand and pay-per-view video, according to media research firm JupiterKagan. Close to a third of those sales were for adult films.

But the fly in the soup is a big one: Hotel chains would probably ignore any requests to include live-sex in their on-demand offerings. The skin flicks currently available are often softcore, and to suddenly allow customers to buy wild live-sex videos would be too huge a jump for the industry. In fact, would the religious right even allow a millimetre of this idea to come to fruition?

Not likely. Which is why Clayman is dreaming right now, even if he’s hopeful the hospitality market will profit from this move. Can you picture Four Seasons airing Moulin Splooge for the visiting exec?

That would open a Pandora’s box of controversy, especially if adult-film companies produced a porn flick called Pandora’s Box.

You are so correct in your assessment that the religious right will slam this one all they way to hell and back, which is where you are going, you know David, just for posting this immoral piece! (Of course, I am just kidding around here but just wait ... )

Well why don't they just go ahead and get their porn in the hotels - and watch the religious right build their own freakin' hotels with NO television!! When they've had enough of the crap ram rodded up their behind they'll do their own thing and then watch the hotel chains scramble to get rid of their porn - just to get the religious right's buck back!! Anything for a trick, especially in the hospitality business!

My Dad works in the hotel industry and these business men are already watching XXX films in their hotel rooms. They're just not provided by the hotel.

All came with sex for today and forver. I think (probably i hope) that all people at the world love sex, so why allways some people do from porn movies or erotic something awful? If sex it is nessesary for us, but as longer we live at the earth, as less things at sex could surprise us, thats why not a lot people could imagine different sex scene just at head.I think that people just should go ahead, and do whats nature says :-P
P.S. sorry for mistakes, english is not my native.

Americans have such a taboo around anything sexual that it drives the adult film industry. I go on a few business trips a year and everyone from the Hilton to Motel Six offers some sort of "adult entertainment" on their TV sets as far as I remember.

So how come these old posts, once commented on, don't show up in the "most recently commented on" section on the main page???

Curious how the system works here in this "community"

    :-)

Yeah - I noticed the same thing. I thought this article was sort of tasteless the first time around - just my personal take, but that's why I recall it. Why is it in the top ten again today, a week later, all of the sudden?

The photo is tasteless too. I posted a photo with one of my articles - which I found in the DJ archive, it wasn't my upload. The staff - obviously thinking it tread too far on the line between good and bad taste - removed it. I thought, ok, you're right. But this one is really worse. Yet. . . . here it is. VEry interesting.

    Double standards?

It's just reporting the news guys -- it's not always going to be of your taste. If this goes through, it would be pretty big news. It's our job to cover these types of happenings.

As for the photo: We couldn't illustrate it with live sex, so we thought this was much more tasteful.

    :)

Don't recall this ever happening? What story was it Mac? I wouldn't touch a user's photo without contacting them as to why it was removed. That happens only rarely.

As for the Top 10 -- it's not in the top 10?!?

C'mon, men cannot resist Jenna Jameson. She is a household name... lol

I hope they don't' start doing this though. I don't mind people enjoying a little "pron" here and there. It makes things interesting, but live sex? It is just a bit too far... let alone extremely pathetic. If you need sexual stimulation that badly I am sure the hotel can arrange a visit from the local brothel.

    (yes I am being facetious)
