article imageGold Medal Stolen From Canadian Paralympian

By Brandigal (Donna)     Jan 15, 2007 in Crime
He won the gold medal as part of Canada's sledge hockey team at the 2006 Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy only to have it stolen.
Paul Rosen's medal was stolen when he was at hockey tournament at Downsview Park Saturday. He turned his back for a minute and someone stole it.
He said "I worked for four years to win this gold medal with my teammates and I just want it back."For a second I lost faith in humanity, I'm already missing my leg, why would somebody do this?"
He lost his leg to an infection and worked for 6 years very hard to get he medal.
He said he will not press charges he just wants his medal back.
He said "Drop it into any police station, I'll even give you an autographed picture or something, I just want my medal back."
I hope whoever took it will get a conscience and give it back. Maybe it was kids at the game and did a prank? I hope they return it to him. That medal belongs to him, he worked very hard to get it not letting the loss of his leg stop him.
