You could help this Katrina Survivor rebuild himself in post-Katrina New Orleans with just five minutes of your time!
Hi guys! I need your help if you are willing. In many of my posts here at Digital Journal I have talked about my experience working as a Guide at ChaCha.com. I love working as a Guide and the extra money it brings me is terrific.
I have had a very rough time since moving back to New Orleans after Katrina. I was in the first zip code allowed to move back in. Mid-October I returned and began to cry the moment I saw the Superdome. We were the only car on the interstate and I snaped the picture above. My roommate decided not to return. I lost many of the things in my house, my transportation, and every friend that I had here. I completely started over and it has not been easy. I have had to move twice in one year because the landlords decided to sell. Two post-Katrina roommates were no help. One never paid for anything but got a free ride for two months and the other stole the $1,000 security deposit on one of the places. My job was my life. I worked in HIV prevention education for a big non-profit agency. However, unlike most people who returned to rebuild and found amply pay for their services, my job was funded by a government grant and no increase was given. I am sure you can guess the cost of living soared post-Katrina. I was recently forced to resign from that job. Having been HIV positive for 14 years, this was what I felt was my purpose in life. My post-Katrina supervisor apparently had other plans and in December finally made it so tough on me that I was forced to resign or be fired. Ironically, I had rebuilt my intervention program and it was the only program functioning at my office. But enough of the "Bad Easy" stories. Here is where I could use your help.
ChaCha.com has a goal of having 1,000,000 users by June of this year. They are giving their Guides and incentive that I am asking everyone to try. It will only take about five minutes of your time and you can do it once or really help me out and do it each month this year (the duration of the incentive). For each person I invite who participates in the incentive, I receive $1. Not alot and that is why I am hoping you can help me make this "viral". More on that in a moment. Here is all you have to do:
1. Email me at tyjack@gmail.com.
2. I will send you a link to install the "ChaCha" toolbar (I hear you -- NO! Not another toolbar).
3. Install it (no other spyware or adware included I promise).
4. I need you to do twenty searches to qualify for the incentive. You can quickly do any twenty searches you would like without having to set up the toolbar beyond installing!
That's it! That is all I am asking you to help me with. Oh yeah... and help me make it viral! Email your friends with my story and ask them to email me. Let them know it was super simple. You could really help make a HUGE difference in my life at this time. Did I mention that I could get stock options by mid-year if ChaCha reaches their goal and I am in the Top 111 Guides? That would be fantastic for me and would help out so much. It is very difficult for me to ask for handouts so please forgive me if this request isn't your style. I just figured it was a quick way to earn some cash that I desperately need since my recent unemployment. I love the toolbar personally and hope you will use it regularly. But I am only asking for five minutes and twenty searches. If you would like me to email you each month and remind you to "show" the taskbar and perform twenty more searches to help me out again, please let me know in your email to me. My goal is to have 200 participants this month. You can keep track of my progress at ChaChaSpot.Bravehost.com. Thank you so much for helping me rebuild!
