When the electric sliding door of her minivan got stuck, a 75-year-old disabled woman found herself unable to get out of her van.
She waited, hoping somebody would walk by and help her. Then she saw a man walking her way, beckoned to him and asked if he could help her. Instead the man hopped into the van, closed the door and asked for a ride.
"He didn't seem threatening or anything, so I said 'OK' and drove off," said the elderly woman.
A few blocks later the man got out and drove off in a white sedan. Only later did the woman find out the man had just robbed a bank.
"When I think back now of what could have happened, I feel blessed that I'm OK," she said.
She was very lucky indeed.
