Murtha to Block Bush's Troop Surge by Limiting Funds

By Ziad Chatila     Jan 12, 2007 in World
Democratic Representative John Murtha, chairman of a House subcommittee on defense spending, said he will try to block the increase of U.S. forces in Iraq and force the closing of a military prison in Guantanamo Bay by withholding funds.
It looks like a showdown is brewing with the brave senator Murtha leading the charge.
Much like Theodore Roosevelt leading the Rough Riders in their charge up San Juan Hill, against all odds, Murtha's stubbornness is pushing Congress in a new direction.
Condoleezza Rice and others have said that we should not dwell on the mistakes of the past, but the problem that they overlook is that new mistakes are continuously being made.
The Titanic is sinking folks, and the lords of war must be allowed to sink with it, while somehow salvaging all that can be saved.
