Early morning roof crash causes women to call 911
A piece of metal that is around 16 inches in diameter crashed through the roof of a home near Midway International Airport in Chicago
Two women called 911 early this morning after they found a piece of metal inside their house. Officers who arrived at the scene reported that they were no injuries caused as a result of the roof being breached.
"It appears to be part of an aircraft," Wendy Abrams a spokeswoman for the city's Department of Aviation said. "It is now being transported back to the airport where it will remain pending the arrival of the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board)."
They don't know exactly where the metal came from but it looks as if it fell off of a plane that was either landing or taking off from the airport last night sometime between 1 and 1:30 am.
