A North Carolina Couple buys a Picasso painting for a $1 at a local yard sale and now await its results to prove whether the painting is genuine.
Experts think a Carolina Beach couple owns a real Pablo Picasso masterpiece.
Pete Bivens and his fiance had the painting analyzed last week by art historians. They think the painting could be an original piece.
Now they have to begin the lengthy process of having the painting carbon dated and authenticated.
Bivens and his fiance bought the painting at a yard sale more than a decade ago for one dollar.
First when Bivens saw this painting he couldn't believe that is was genuine Picasso painting, but his girlfriend pushed him to buy. So, jokingly he asked his girlfriend to give him a $1 to buy this painting with Picasso inscribed at the bottom of the picture. This happened 10 years ago, and then he showed this painting to an art consultant and Professor in the local university in North Carolina. Based on their advice, Bivens has submitted the painting to Georgetown University researchers, who will analyze the painting. He is anxiously waiting for their word, whether it is $1 worth or Million dollars worth.
