article imageRoof of B.C. Place stadium collapses

By Brandigal (Donna)     Jan 5, 2007 in Environment
The roof at B.C. Place stadium collapsed shortly after noon during a storm that brought wind and heavy, wet snow to the area.
The Stadium was empty when the roof, built of inflated teflon fabric, collasped into it.
Just three weeks ago it was found to be structurally sound contrary to reports stating otherwise.
The stadium is set to house the Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies in 2010.
It recently was home to the Rolling Stones Concert.
I am sure it is not used to this kind of weather and snow as Vancouver does not get much, hardly any at all in past.
Hope they get it fixed soon.
