Fla. woman: Bra saved me from bullet

By Iamseven     Jan 5, 2007 in Crime
Debbie Bingham says she was outside enjoying the neighborhood fireworks on New Year's Eve when she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder.
The sharp pain came after someone had fired a gun into the air. Bingham was struck by the falling bullet, but it would have been much worse if not for her bra.
"The bullet was halfway inside of my bra, and the other half right on the tip of my skin," she said.
Bingham believes that the 45-caliber bullet was stopped by the bra. The bra prevented the bullet from penetrating deeper into her shoulder.
It is not yet known who shot the gun, but police say it is against the law to shoot a gun into the air at any time.
After the incident, Bingham was taken to the hospital where she received five stitches. Bingham is just grateful that 5 stitches were all she needed and she's very thankful for her bra.
"It was a very cheap bra. it wasn't very expensive and I'd love to have a couple more of those bras," she said.
I wish she'd have told the brand and make of the bra.. lol. I'd like to have a few lifesaving bras myself! Amazing story.
