Young Girl Facing Charges After Wetting Pants

By bobSP     Jan 4, 2007 in World
A 12-year-old mentally disabled student in Montour County, PA was charged with disorderly conduct after authorities said she deliberately wet her pants at school.
The poor girl's mother explained that her daughter was frightened by the principal and wet her pants because of it.
The girl and her classmates were having a holiday lunch to close out the first semester of school when the teacher had them clean some pots and pans. The girl didn't want to do the dishes so the teacher called the principal.
After the principal came down to the room the girl wet herself. The mother said that she had wet herself in previous situations when she was scared
The school says they are at their 'wits end' with the girl and say it was on purpose.
I have to say that I have worked with special education students before, and they misbehave but you don't call the principal on them. You have to have patience, and scaring the poor girl into wetting herself is not a way to get her to behave. I wholly believe that she was simply scared--this school does not know how to treat these kids. Sometimes they just get in a funk and misbehave, it is the duty of the Special Ed. teachers to be patient and work the child out of the funk.
