A report obtained by Montreal's La Presse says the the Mounties spent nearly $5 million in the Mahar Arar case.
The federal documents say the R. C. M. P. spent nearly $900 thousand investigating the alleged links between Arar and al Qaeda.
A further $4 million was spent by the Mounties defending themselves in the wake of Arar's detention and torture in a Syrian prison.
...The artical does not say how much was spent on the inquiry, or on how much it will have the cough up to settle the matter.
