New UNICEF-built school burned by insurgents
Officials said that In eastern Afghanistan, Taliban millitants burned down a newly built school for refugee children.
Last year there were many similar attacks on schools and on teachers that were mostly blamed on Taliban rebels carrying out an insurgency and trying to overthrow the government. It is believed that they are also trying to get rid of foreign troops who are trying to bring some stability to the region.
The school was set alight in the eastern province of Nangarhar near the border with Pakistan was made up of tents from the UN children's fund, UNICEF, provincial spokesman Hazrat Hussain said.
Five tents of a new UNICEF-built school were burned down last night in Behsud district,” he said.
This only hurts the children of Afghanistan. Are the Taliban millitant insurgents from Afghanistan?
