First Baby Born In 2007 Wins College Scholarship

By bobSP     Jan 2, 2007 in World
Mira Sol Hernandez was born at midnight in San Antonio Texas, the first baby born in 2007 in the area.
"I think it's very special," said Tania Hernandez, the baby's mother. "It's kind of a neat thing. I'm still kind of in shock."
The baby girl weighed in at six pounds and eleven ounces. She is just over a foot and a half long and was born at the University Hospital in San Antonio, TX.
The baby was not only special because she was born right at midnight, but she is the winner of a $10,000 scholarship to Incarnate Word University as well.
The mother went on to say that New Year's day will be even more special to her in the future--it's now a national holiday and the day of her daughter's birth.
Good news for the family and the child, while it wont pay for all of her college (or even half, especially in 18 years), but it will definitely help her when she reaches that point in her life.
