article imageIs serious gaming in Apple's future?

By bobSP     Jan 2, 2007 in Technology
All kinds of speculation has come to the surface since Apple has begun looking for a games developer.
Getting into the gaming world would be a large change in direction for Apple. Originally Steve Jobs had the company make it hard to develop games for Macs because he wanted Macs to be taken seriously.
But things have been shifting since the relase of the iPod. IPods come with a few basic games such as Solitaire and Parachute. Now more and more advanced games are available for iPods through iTunes, but there have been some issues with getting more games for the iPod so that Apple has had to step it up in the gaming development department.
It is not really known whether Apple intends to head for more serious gaming or if it just plans to make games more accessible for the hugely popular iPod. Hopefully this will lead to Apple's venturing more into gaming friendly moves into the future for Macintosh and its Apple computers.
