Not everybody welcomed in 2007.
Hundreds of people braved the rain to take to the streets of the French town of Nantes to say no to 2007. The protest was a light-hearted parody of the French habit of saying 'non'. Banners read "No to 2007' and 'Now is better'.
The marchers called on governments and the UN to stop time's "mad race" and declare a moratorium on the future.
At the end of the march protestors continued their defiant stand, chanting 'no to 2008'.
