I'm a big believer in the idea that everyone should know basic financial survival skills, like how to balance a check book, when credit cards are good, and when they are bad, and such similar skills. This link describe how to sign over a check.
I was fortunate to learn a lot of this stuff early on, but I forget that things like this are totally mysterious to many folks. The link talks about the basic procedure for "signing over" a check made out to you, to someone else so they can cash it instead. It's not hard, and is a great little tip. Who knows, given the holiday bills coming in for most folks soon, maybe this will be useful to one of you this month.
Are DJ readers interested in basic financial literacy how-to's? If so, I could start to write up some original ones. Let me know in comments.
