A Midtown strip mall that should have housed the best of the best served as Corruption Central in Tucson.
Two military recruiting stations--one Army, one Marines--in a Tucson, AZ mall have been secretly accepting bribes to transport cocaine for the last 3 years.
These recruiters formed the center of one of the FBI's largest public corruption cases in the US in the last 3 years.
Many of the recruiters ran drugs while they were on the job at High schools in the Tucson area. FBI agents filmed them counting cash next to stacks of cocaine after deals with area drug peddlers. Some of the recruiters were running drugs for some 3 years after they were initial caught on camera.
Most have pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in march. Some have honorably retired from the military...however, there is no evidence that the recruiters were selling to the students.
What they did between FBI drug runs isn't known because they weren't under constant surveillance, the FBI said. For example, in the middle of the cocaine sting, one of the recruiters was arrested by another law-enforcement agency in an unrelated drug case, accused of transporting nearly 200 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 19, court records show.
Wow..this is just really crappy..way to abuse your post guys, way to tarnish the image of our Military personnel.
