The numbers are based on an analysis of 6,974,802 distinct visits across 4,018 websites. It shows that a combination of Firefox 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 have 24% of the market (with Mozilla that number moves to 26%).
This marks a major milestone for Firefox..if the trend continues, we could see an unseating of the reigning king--Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
1 Internet Explorer 6.0 59%
2 Firefox 1.5 17%
3 Internet Explorer 7.0 6%
4 Firefox 2.0 6%
5 Firefox 1.0 2%
The site also shows the market share of Operating systems--with Microsoft having more than 93%..so much for all the hype about Mac gaining in popularity..it was 93% 5 years ago.
