A note written by the three missing hikers who have been lost on Mt Hood for over a week, says that they had brought food, gear and other necessities up with them during their climb.
Capt. Chris Bernard of the 304th Rescue Squadron showed a note scribbled on pink paper on which the three climbers detailed their planned route, and even listed supplies they were carrying with them, including: "food, fuel, ropes, shovel" and bivvy sack.
This note brings the tally of written evidence by the hikers to three. A note was found in the backseat of their car. The hikers also signed a climbing log at Cloud Cap Inn as they began their ascent. Previous searchers were bombarded with bad weather but with the clearing skies in and around the mountain may as well be a sign that they will be able to search again today.
