Teacher's Aide Charged With Sexual Assault Of Special Ed Student

A 26-year-old teacher's aide has been arrested and charged with second-degree sexual assault after police say she had a months-long relationship with an 18-year-old student in her special education class.

Teachers preying on students has become an epidemic problem. Not a day goes by without more stories of abuse by teachers. Even though this student was 18 it's still a crime for a teacher to have sexual contact with a student. The victim was in the special education class because he did not fit in among "mainstream" classes, Schubert said. As of Friday, it was still unclear how the relationship began. It doesn't say what the specific reason was for the young man being in a special ed class was,but you have to assume that he's challenged in some way. That makes the teacher taking advantage of him all the more heinous.
