Convicted killer Colin Thatcher was granted full parole today.
Thatcher spent a total of 22 years behind bars for the first-degree murder of his former wife, JoAnn Wilson, in 1983. She was badly beaten and shot in the head.
He is a former Saskatchewan cabinet minister and son of premier Ross Thatcher.
He has always claimed to be innocent.
He has been living in a half way house since the summer.
A jury granted him immediate eligibility at a second hearing. Normally he would not be eligible to seek parole for 25 years.
