This will now affect any cases in California that have been pending. Of course the pending cases need to involve prescription. This stems from a case where a doctor testified in court his patient, who was arrested with marijuana and scales, was in need of the drug for his chronic pain. The court didn't agree, and was pushed up to the CA supreme court.
