Engineering and Creativity.....Music to the ears.

By Phriktion     Nov 29, 2006 in World
Amazing Musical Machine built by University of Iowa Engineering and Music Students.
This incredible machine was built by a collaborative effort from the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon WIck School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. 97% of it is actually composed from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft Iowa. To put it simply, Almost all of it is made from FARM EQUIPMENT! The Build team took an amazing 13,029 hours to setup, align, calibrate and tunebefore they were able to film this video, but it is well worth the effort. It is currently on display at the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is scheduled to be donated to the Smithsonian soon. It just goes to show you that when you combine engineering, creativity and time, you can do anything and that's music to my ears.
