I just got an email from the Google Video team warning that three posts were made that may contain the W32/Kapser.A@mm worm (a mass mail worm).
I am subscribed to the Google Video email updates that are sent out once a day.

You can imagine my surprise when I got this email from them:

From: Google Video Team
Reply-To: Google-Video-blog-owner@googlegroups.com
To: Google Video blog
Date: Nov 8, 2006 2:08 AM
Subject: About recent posts to the Google Video group

On Tuesday evening, three posts were made to the Google Video
Blog-group that should not have been posted. This has now been
addressed and fixed.

Still, some of these posts may have contained a virus called
W32/Kapser.A@mm -- a mass mailing worm. If you think you have
downloaded this virus from the group or an email message, we recommend
you run your antivirus program to remove it. If you do not have an
antivirus program, you can download Norton AntiVirus software for free
from the Google pack,

We're sorry for any inconvenience, and we're taking steps to ensure
that this doesn't happen again.

I'm not an expert on Viruses so I don't know how exactly you can get the virus. And by Google's vague email saying "If you think you have downloaded the virus..." I don't even know how I would know if I did?

Wait until this news makes it into the mainstream press. Google is going to have some 'splainin' to do.
