Sir Richard Branson has pledged three billion dollars (£1.6 billion) towards renewable energy initiatives, saying business had a duty to future generations.
I love this guy -- he actually does something useful with his money.
Using money from Virgin empire's airline and train businesses, Branson says he's going to dish out $3 billion to research and develop fuel alternatives. Normally I would call this a PR stunt, but the guy might actually make a difference, and he's putting enough money behind it to make it worthwhile.
He said: "What we've decided to do is to put any dividends, any profits, any shares, sales from those businesses, into tackling environmental issues."
