Country singer-songwriter Hunter Hayes finds himself in the running for the "Best Country Solo Performance" Grammy for the second year in a row.
This year, he is nominated for his upbeat single "I Want Crazy," which was off the deluxe edition of the re-release of his eponymous debut album. Hayes is joined by label-mate Blake Shelton ("Mine Would Be You"), Darius Rucker ("Wagon Wheel"), Lee Brice ("I Drive Your Truck") and Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart."
"I Want Crazy," which Hayes co-wrote with Lori McKenna and Troy Verges, went to No. 1 on the Mediabase country charts and it peaked at No. 2 on both the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts and on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. It has been certified platinum in the United States, and most recently, Hayes surpassed one million fans on his Facebook page.
This marks Hayes' fourth career Grammy nomination. Last year, the Atlantic Nashville recording artist secured three Grammy nods for "Best New Artist," "Best Country Album" for his self-titled CD, as well as for "Best Country Solo Performance" for his chart-topping ballad "Wanted."
The Grammy awards will take place on January 26. Tune in to see if Hunter Hayes will walk away with the trophy for "Best Country Solo Performance."
