Scottish DJ and music producer Calvin Harris received two 2014 Grammy nominations in the dance categories. He is signed to Columbia Records/Ultra Music.
His collaboration with rock songstress Florence Welch (of the group Florence And The Machine), "Sweet Nothing," is up for "Best Dance Recording," along with DJ Zedd and Armin van Buuren, who was voted as the No. 2 DJ in the world according to DJ Magazine this year.
The song's music video for "Sweet Nothing" has generated well over 85 million views on YouTube, thus becoming a viral phenomenon.
In addition, Harris' album, 18 Months, is nominated for "Best Dance/Electronica Album," where he is joined by releases from such electronic dance music (EDM) acts as Daft Punk, Disclosure, Kaskade and Pretty Lights.
This year, Calvin Harris ranked No. 15 on the Top 100 DJ Magazine poll, thus escalating 16 spots from the previous year.
